THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL

I am glad to see that they seem to have respected the heritage of the original movie One may have a glimpse of GORT the robot at the end of the Earth Stood Still trailer:

GORTThe Day The Earth Stood Still with Keanu Reeves is more than promising judging from this trailer.

I've seen that guy in a bunch of tv and a couple of films (David Richmond-Peck). Total chameleon. Glad to see him again on the big screen. He's like the man of a thousand faces. This Trailer is great!

Is this a remake of the 1951 film or based on Harry Bates's 1940 short story "Farewell to the Master" ?

I was told that the trailer music is called Imminent Impact by Distortion. But it is a track that is yet to be released.

No one should watch this that saw the orig. movie. Based on the orig. movie the alien's would have been exterminated by the robots for aggression against another planet. This was spelled out in the first movie and is just another issue of Hollywood being unable to come out with any orig. movies so they dig up and ruin another old classic. It's just a special effects movie with a bad plot and writing as usual.
