We thought we were owning Earth:
We were wrong...

THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL

Even if atomic bombs may have been replaced by man-caused environmental disaster I have great hopes for this movie.

Besides Keanu Reeves is an accomplished actor who will add his personal touch to the cult character of Klaatu. And last but not least, Gort, the science-fiction robot, is as kitsch as in the 1950's and I love it!

My dad took me to see this movie around 1953-4. I have seen it more than a dozen times since and I still get the same enjoyment out of it. It just has to be one of the much loved movie ever and the very fact that it makes sense about real life, makes it a lesson for all.

1951s version is perhaps the greatest Sci-Fi film ever made with Alien a close second. It's going to be hard to get the same impact that Micheal Rennies Klaatu, and Gort gave an unsuspecting audience in 1951.I'm going to enjoy the remake, but I'm going in with much predudice.

1951s version is perhaps the greatest sci-fi movie ever made with Alien a close 2nd.Micheal Rennies Klaatu, and Gort froze theater goers to ther seats, and left them believeing that there was someone out there watching.I will go and see this remake, and see if Keanu can measure up,but I go in there with extreme predudice!

1951s version is perhaps the best sci-fi ever made in this fans opinion, with Alien a close second.Micheal Rennies Klaatu, and Gort, the policemen of the galaxy, mesmerized audiences.I can just picture them in their seats, and really wondering if there was really someone out there.I will check out this version, but I will with extreme predudice!

1951s version was the best sci-fi movie ever made in this fans opinion, with Alien a close 2nd. Micheal Rennies Klaatu and Gort, the original galactic policemen, made movie goers of that age really believing there was someone out there watching us.I will check out this remake, but I will with extreme predudice!
